History
Ms. Coghlan started practicing in the Juvenile Dependency area of the law, representing parents and children. The practice moved into family law, guardianships, and adoptions. Ms. Coghlan has handled many step-parent adoptions, and represented many Grandparents seeking guardianship of their grandchildren. Ms. Coghlan is a member of the El Dorado Collaborative Group, which is comprised of attorneys, financial specialists, divorce coaches and child specialists. The goal of the Collaborative process is to keep divorcing parties out of court, allowing them to control their own cases and make their own decisions, and make a difficult situation easier for the children who may be involved.

Ms. Coghlan has served a wide variety of clients, including children, parents, step-parents, and grandparents, in all aspects of family law, guardianships and adoptions.
Goals
To involve each client with the legal and factual issues involved in their case.
Collaborative Process: To keep the parties out of court; to allow parties to make their own decisions regarding their case instead of the court; to assist the clients financially and emotionally in moving on to the next phase; to ease the transition; to give the parties ownership of their case; to provide assistance in making a difficult situation easier for any children involved.
Form Preparation: To assist parties who cannot afford legal representation to prepare the required documents/legal forms properly for filing.
